Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Makeup Primer in 002

Usually I can’t use any primers with my Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation as it is a VERY fussy and nitpicky foundation- just smears and slides and looks awful!

I’m so so happy with this 🙌🏼 definitely recommend! Think I got it on Amazon UK for £5+ so it’s VERY affordable. I’ve tried Smashbox primers over the same Estee Lauder foundation and it didn’t work out either 😞 and this is literally 1/4 the price and works so much better!

It goes on so smoothly and does not leave any chalky residue like the W7 Prime Magic Face Primer did. I got the W7 primer on Amazon UK for £3 and it does leave your face feeling deliciously smooth and covers all your pores really well, as if it has been airbrushed, but any application of liquids makes it flake right off. Which is reaaally not ideal. I use it only if I can’t be ars*d having foundation on, but still want my skin to look smooth.

The W7 primer is very similar to the TONYMOLY Egg Pore silky smooth balm and The Body Shop all-in-one instablur, which I did a review of previously here.

It helps manage my oily skin too, which is a huge plus point. In fact, I had to go over with the Mario Badescu facial spray and skip a setting powder because it started looking a bit dry and I didn’t want it to end up cakey.

Video Review will be up this weekend

I’ll be posting a video review during the weekend!

It’s my first time doing this, so please bear with me >< Actually the only reason why I have decided to try it is because my DSLR is always getting borrowed and stuff… and I’m really too lazy to process pictures.

Usually I prefer to get the photo right while taking, so no editing, because it’s such a pain. I wonder how bloggers like KotaKoti or Xiaxue find so much time and patience to edit their faces because it is such a painful process!! *rage*  The most I can do is airbrush a bit over bad cases of acne  and even then it looks red. So I avoid taking pictures when my acne gets bad…

I tried changing the shape of my face for a lark one day to try and copy the ‘doll’ look that tons of bloggers are editing their faces to… and needless to say, it failed. My chin and my eyebrows swapped positions or something, and my features went into a 180 degrees rotation. It was pretty funny but I was kinda sad too :/ Oh well!

Oh I wanted to add that I will get really irritated at my face (the grammar seems off here) if I have to spend hours editing my pictures, so I’d rather not do it because I’m stuck with this face for the rest of my life. *laughs*

Don’t worry, I will add the main points down in text too, in case I speak weirdly hahaha! Nope, no captions- I am a total failure with computers and cannot do anything other than navigating the Internet and using Microsoft Word… and turning my laptop on and off. I wouldn’t know how to insert captions, and I won’t follow a script so it will be a long and tiring process to transcribe whatever I say!

Yep, that’s it. To end off, random uncensored picture of me…

Can you recognise me?? 😀

I’m the one on the bottom left! (that’s my usual expression)

Okay, okay, it’s a rendering of me in chibi form, done by yours truly. 😛

Okay it’s not as good I know, my friend azaleias (Instagram username) is HEAPS TONS BAJILLION TIMES BETTER. She hand-draws and colours everything!! The Gaara and Sasori picture was dedicated to me for my birthday hehe 🙂

Sorry for the randomness but hey, you discover new cool things with me everyday!

E.L.F Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara

You’ll have to excuse me for the lack of pictures for the next few posts!

My family is on holiday and they’ve taken the DSLR, so…. no pictures. ;-;

Anyway, I’ll be reviewing the Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara from E.L.F today.

credits to beautybeaucoup.blogspot.com

I love the affordability of E.L.F products, and I use this everyday because it gives my lashes a subtle lift and length without coming off as overly fake- it looks like you just washed your face and the water stayed on your lashes!

I guess that’s the ‘wet look’ for you! Wonder if Gatsby’s hair gel works the same way? *thoughtful* Would be so much cheaper, wouldn’t it? *feels consistency of mascara* Hmmm… maybe I just hit upon some industrial trade secret!

Okay, jokes aside (I don’t want to be sued), if you are looking for something with heavy-duty lifting and curling, this mascara is not for you. In fact, I find that my lashes are less curled than before (my lashes naturally curl up at the ends)- I get longer, sweeping lashes. This would suit people who already have decent lashes, and are looking for something to brighten up their eyes without coming across as heavily made up.

This does not have very long lasting power and is not waterproof or smudgeproof, so a re-application is needed after 2-3 hours. You can also revive it with a careful swipe of water with a clean mascara wand or if you do not have one on hand, swipe your finger in an upwards movement (be very careful though). This is a trick I found out after fretting over clumping lashes- one too many re-applications will make your lashes clump.

The tube is a double-ended one, labeled ‘eyelash’ and ‘eyebrow’ on each end, but I just use both ends for my lashes. The wands are the same anyway. I really like the wands because they do a good job of separating the lashes, and there is this part at the top of the tube that gets rid of excess product so the brush won’t contain too much gel and make your lashes clump! One or two swipes of the wand should do the trick- this isn’t one of those ‘false lashes effect’ mascaras, and you want to avoid clumping.

Did I mention I really hate clumping lashes? …no? Well, I think it shows in my post.

Well, that’s all guys! Pictures to be added up soon (hopefully)!

Yadah Angel Lip Tint in Juicy Red

Hi guys!

Today, I’ll be reviewing the Angel Lip Tint in Juicy Red from Yadah. I thought I’d do this post first because it requires less effort and I have swatches from some time ago, though they’re not very well done because I didn’t have energy to edit them to become prettier or whatever. Just bear with me for now because I’m totally drained of energy nowadays. I think I even look stoned in some of the pics haha.

I bought this online at Qoo10 (link directs you to the page) when it was on sale at 5.90 SGD, plus free shipping. Shipping is now at 1 SGD but occasionally the price drops to 4.90 SGD, so grab it quick when it happens!!

When I wanted to buy this, I decided to do my research first and search for reviews on this lip tint. It was super hard to find reviews of this particular colour because apparently EVERYONE is choosing the other colour- Angel Lip Tint in Red Wine. SO IRRITATING!

In the end I decided to choose Juicy Red because I had tons of lip products similar to the Red Wine colour (like reddish pink) and I wanted to try something more refreshing and unique. I mean, if the whole wide world is going to buy the same colour, how boring can it get?!

Now I’m already starting to eye PeriPera’s lip tints, particularly the orange one.  It looks so awesome! I bought Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain in Rendezvous, hoping to get coral lips but it was somewhat of a disappointment because the colour of my lips overpowered it and it ended up looking more red than anything else 😦 I tried using lip concealer but as it was a lip tint it kinda mixed in with the concealer and I ended up with pasty orange on my lips that looked terrible.

ANYWAY.

I really like this lip tint because it can be used in two ways-

1) For the ‘Bitten’ effect

2) Over the entire lip, like a lipstick.

I really need to make a tutorial on how to achieve the bitten effect because I am seeing so many ugly pictures out there that totally ruins the effect.

Firstly, before you use this,

MAKE SURE YOUR LIPS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION.

I can’t describe how MANY people who review this with chapped and peeling lips and oh god it is a sight for sore eyes. If you look at some of the beauty blogger reviews you will know what I mean. I will not name names but some of them are truly awful.

If you have chapped and peeling lips, having the bitten effect will make it look like you’re bleeding from the mouth instead of having a sexy ‘bitten’ effect. Plus, the tint will make all the lines and cracks show up all the more, and you don’t want that, do you?

I will show you the pictures before I make any further comments on the product.

I always like to let pictures speak for themselves 🙂

BARE LIPS

just realised I have a super ugly long chin in this photo omg

Note: I am not nude lol

APPLYING THE LIP TINT…

Oh noes I look like I have buck teeth here

‘BITTEN’ EFFECT

Stupid camera adjusted the whole pic to a yellowish tone to balance out the red of the lips

FULL COLOUR

I enlarged two of the pictures so you can see the difference. The difference doesn’t show up much in pictures because I’m using the webcam camera on my computer instead of my Canon 60D DSLR (Canon FTW! Nikon is not user-friendly at all and the colour isn’t as good). If I have time I’ll try to retake the pictures, but no promises! But omg my face is so blurry and pixellated…. okay okay I’ll retake them. You win!

On to the review.

I really like the lip tint and I use it almost everyday, because this is one lip product that has a brighter lip colour than my bare lips. It is similar to my actual lip colour but a little more intense, so it layers well. I see some pictures out there where the reviewers have a big colour diference between their bare lips and the lip tint, which doesn’t give such a nice effect.

In fact, I would highly suggest that you apply a mild tinted lip balm (like Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Glow or Pink Blast, see review here). Lip Ice Sheer Colour is too bright for the subtle effect anyway, and too pink, unless you are getting the Red Wine Liptint (which leans towards bright pink rather than red)

It is a pity that this lip tint doesn’t seem to last long on my lips (maybe because I’m always eating), for me it lasts up to 1-2 hours max on normal school days. If I wear it while going out it lasts a little over 2 hours, but that’s it. Re-application is a must if you want to have the bitten effect for a longer time period.

On a random side note, I always tend to eat this lip tint by accident when I’m applying it and it has a sweet/ sour taste. Apparently some reviews say Benetint has a terrible bitter taste, so maybe you can factor this in if you tend to eat it like me haha. Anyway, Yadah is a MUCH cheaper alternative to Benetint.

And I get it on my teeth too! How does that even happen omg.

Okay actually I know why but it is so irritating.

Okay I should explain how the ‘bitten’ effect is achieved.

Apply the lip tint to the center part of your bottom lip first (nearer the back),

like so

…and purse your lips together several times. Like kissing or doing lip smackers!

Repeat for the top lip, making sure you apply close to the inner part of the lip.

That’s all folks!

I’ll do a video tutorial next time if I can get Youtube to work on my browser.

Silkygirl Big Eye Collagen Waterproof Mascara

This product’s name is a definite misnomer.

To start with, it is not waterproof.

The website also claims that it is smudge-proof…

…but I can assure you that it is not.

Evidence:

Hmmm yeah I used a photo editor to minimise the redness of the pimples you can faintly see there. So it doesn’t distract you from my pretty eyes~

This was done with cold water, so you can’t say that it was the warm water that did it.

I didn’t take a swatch for the smudge-proof claim, but I can assure you that it smudges. I had a hard time trying to cover up my mascara smudge in school.

But please don’t think that this product is a no-go– in fact, this is my favourite mascara yet because the bristles are so hard and fine, it creates wonderful natural-looking lashes.

I tried it in Guardian and fell in love with it!

I just HAD to get it right away… and I did!

This mascara layers really well.

One coat is good for really subtle lashes, like for school, two coats for a more obvious look, and three coats for a really dramatic pop! But usually my lashes start to clump by three coats and I have to use the brush to guide it downwards to ease out the clumping… then the mascara kinda loses its function of making my lashes go upwards.

Starts clumping after 3 coats~

See the difference in length!!

Actually, my lashes already curl up naturally so some mascaras are too heavy and end up drooping lower. Weird huh? And I have a thin extra layer of eyelashes on top of my main ones, like Elizabeth Taylor.

She was sooooo pretty~

Hopefully it’s not a sign that I have the same weird mutation as her that caused her heart problems too. I actually googled ‘double layer eyelashes’ and I think she’s the only one! How cool is that?

She lived such a sad life though… I don’t want my life to be like that! Pretty and desired by so many but no stable love in her life

Back to the point

Anyway, I love this mascara because it is so easy to use!

Anyway, you don’t HAVE to have a waterproof or smudge-proof one, right?

I just wish the brush could be designed in a more curved shape for easier application, like the Maybelline one I’ll be reviewing later on ^^ I love that brush because it is a ‘cat-eyes brush’ and is extremely suitable for people with eyes like mine!

It’s just made for me, hahaha~

Loves: Easy and clean application, doesn’t clump easily

Hates: Not waterproof or smudge-proof as claimed

Rating8.5/10…. I really love this mascara.
